ABC's of the Book of Ephesians

Sent out on a public mailing list. Edited slightly. Awesome list - though I guess the author couldn't find a Z word in the book of Ephesians (there is only 1 "z" in the whole book - in the word, fellowcitizens).

ABC's of the Book of Ephesians

The Epistle to the Ephesians is of the richest mines of the New Testament, and there we find many precious jewels of blessing. The Gospel of God is full of unlimited supplies for all things that pertain to life and godliness. We can only indicate what some of these blessings are by the following alphabetical list. Each one of these is found in connection with the Greek preposition "in."

ACCEPTANCE -- "Accepted in the Beloved" (1:6).

BLESSING -- "Blessed us with all spiritual blessings... in Christ" (1:3).

CHOSEN -- "He hath chosen us in Him" (1:4).

DWELLING -- "Christ may dwell in your hearts" (3:17).

EDIFYING -- "For the edifying of the body of Christ" (4:12, 16, 29).

FILLING -- "Be filled with the Spirit" (5:18).

GROWTH -- "Groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord" (2:21).

HYMNS & HEART -- "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (5:19).

INHERITANCE -- "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance" (1:11, 14).

JOINED -- "The whole body fitly joined together..." (4:16).

KINDNESS -- "His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" (2:7).

LIGHT -- "Now are ye light in the Lord" (5:8).

MIGHT -- "His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ... and you" (1:19-20 & 2:1).

NEARNESS -- "Ye... are made nigh by the blood of Christ" (2:13).

ONENESS -- "To make in Himself of twain one new man" (2:15).

POWER -- "The power that worketh in us" (3:20).

QUICKENED -- "Hath quickened us together with Christ" (2:5).

REDEMPTION -- "In whom we have redemption" (1:7).

SEALING -- "In whom... ye were sealed." (1:13).

TOGETHER -- "Made us sit together in heavenly places" (2:5, 6).

UNITY -- "Unity of the Spirit" & "Unity of the faith" (4:3, 13).

VANITY -- "Walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind" (4:17).

WALK -- "And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us" (5:2).

WORKMANSHIP -- "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (2:10).

X-CEEDING -- "Greatness of His power" (1:19). "Riches of His grace" (2:7). "Abundantly above all that we ask or think" (3:20).

YOU-WARD -- "The grace of God which is given me to you-ward" (3:2).

ZEALOUS -- "Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:14).
