Amen! They won't understand until they are Regenerated, sorry another one of those HARD WORDS, but 1 Cor 2:14 explains it completely. The problem is not the Book, but Preachers who are ashamed to preach the unadulterated Word of God, as Whitfield, Wesley, Moody, etc

I truly wish I had the time and resources I once had to work on this blog - with the recurring death of my computer, I find it very hard to post and edit new material through my Ipod Touch or Ipad - they are geared for reading, but not especially useful for working on articles/studies, etc.

It is great to be able to use these tools to study the Biblle though, and I am still preaching regularly at the Gospel Mission where I work (just reached four years as staff there in September - seven years of preaching come this February 2011).

Hope all is well with you. May the Lord continue to richly bless you too as you serve Him faithfully!

This is a powerful message from God. It is true I already know the source. Sometimes we wonder why we are going through. God is teaching us to grow up and become mature saints, so he can use us and trust us. He said we shall do Greater Works, so if we are going to do Greater Works than he did, than we have to mature, grow up, Spread our wings and Fly. Walk by Faith and not by Sight, Leaning and totaly depending on Jesus.

You've made some excellent points. Yes, Lewis was brilliant but also was mistaken in some doctrine. He read 10's of thousands of books but I don't know how many Christian doctrinal books or sermons. Perhaps that flawed his understanding.

Concerning the Last Battle book, when I read it years ago I thought this was weird too. The worst of the 7 books by far. But "The Horse and His Boy" I thought was the best story and that took place mostly in the fictional country where "Emeth" was from. A country which worshipped "Tash" as their god.

I thought that Lewis was attempting to say that a member of every tribe and tonque would be saved. But you made some good points that maybe Lewis was saying something else. The character that was thrown through the door was someone trying to find God, but never had a knowledge of who He really was, by name. He thought it was the fictional "Tash" character. I didn't think that this character "Emeth" was seeking evil. "no service which is vile can be done to me" So apparently in the book Emeth didn't do vile things. Regardless, this was a stupid thing to put in a children's book that could have been left out.

Victor, if there has truly been a time and place that you trusted the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation, then there is always hope for you. Jesus has promised never to leave you nor forsake you, and He has promised that the Holy Spirit will dwell in you forever. Because of sin, you may not hear His voice or feel His presence, but He is faithful and will always keep His Word - and that word is that HE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU!!

John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

I have backslidden before as well, and believed that I have messed up too badly for the Lord to forgive me or ever use me again - but He reminds me over and over again what His Word says:

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Lamentations 3:21-26 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

God's mercy depends upon His faithfulness - not mine. My part is to repent and make the sin right, to get my focus completely back on Him - then He will cleanse me, forgive me, and give me a new beginning - and HIS BLOOD WILL CLEANSE MY CONSCIENCE, which eats at me and wears away my spirit because of my sin. Here, read this:

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Claim that promise. If you have made your sin right, confessed it to God (which means you agree with Him about what He says about your sin), then accept His mercy and new beginning - regardless of your feelings, and pray for Him to cleanse your conscience so that you can serve Him again without that heavy burden weighing you down. God wants to give you a new beginning and joy as you walk with Him. His conviction is there until you get your sin right - it is the Devil that wants you to give up because of your sin, not the Lord.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I'm a backslider and I hate what I have done to my good and righteous heart and to my relationship with the Lord. I wish I could go back in time, I would bow down and worship the Lord everyday. The Holy Spirit gave me wonderful gifts and I threw it all away. I feel like crying! I have prayed for forgivness and I hope the Lord will restore me. I am frightened that I have lost the Holy Spirit forever.

as you return to the Lord let go of your shame, it will hurt as you learn to trust in his mercy but keep walking forward and you will get there.

THE LORD does not despise you even though you may despise yourself right now, and he will by no means reject you.

make sure you got some good ppl around you praying for you every time you feel like you cant make it.. forget about image, be transparent and let your emotions free

Thank you for replying, Bro Don. I have been blessed and exhorted many times by your sermon outlines and blog posts. Because of my blogs and websites being KJVonly, I wanted to include that disclaimer - but I appreciate that even though we don't see exactly eye-to-eye on the Bible version issue, you do not belittle your brethren or tear down the KJV (just quote from other versions). I wanted to give credit where credit is due, and make available to my readers some sites that have challenged and strengthened me in my Christian walk, and at times opened the Bible up to me. As for the versions, I have a great deal of respect for those who hold to the KJV as the best translation in English. There are some strong arguments for the position, so I do not hold you in disdain! As I understand it, there are stronger arguments that persuade me otherwise, but it seems to me that both positions have to base some arguments on presuppositions and not revelation. Therefore, I am charitable towards those of an opposing view and hope they can benefit from my work in the same way.

May the Lord bless you in your ministry. One of these days we will have to get together for a cafe! Hopefully on this side of glory! (I am sure there must be cafe in glory, don't you think?)

How prevalent it is today that people desire to alter the very Words of God!

I believe this happens a lot because many do not fear God, they make up their own god, and they don't esteem the Word of God as being pure.

Just like Spurgeon says, man "craves" to alter God's Word - God help us!

That's one BIG REASON why folks don't know God's Word...just like that guy who's commenting on my blog. He's replied to you again.

You're right about "livewires" posting on my blog...He will not stay on point AND he'll ask more questions without answering questions posted to him and closing out the thoughts.
